Update re Kindy Gold model for 2021
Thank you to our families who have responded with feedback concerning the proposed changes to our Kindergarten Gold program for 2021.
We would like to acknowledge that we have heard and understood your concerns, and greatly value the feedback of our Little Genesis families.
We have had a cross-section of our Kindy Gold families communicate that they wish the current model of Kindergarten Gold to remain in 2021.
In response to this, and in consultation with the College Leadership Team, we are pleased to be able to provide an update which offers families two choices for 2021 in Kindy Gold, which can both be integrated into the program. Families will need to choose just one option for the year.
Option 1 (sessional)
Those families who wish to remain on the current sessional Kindy model in 2021 will be able to do so. This will mean that the Kindy Gold sessional program will continue next year on a five-day fortnight, during school term time only.
As it is currently, there will either be a Monday/Tuesday/Alt Wednesday or an Alt Wednesday/ Thursday/Friday choice. We are also taking the opportunity to extend the session time by ½ hour, with drop off being at 8.15am and pick up at 2.45pm, in order to further cater to family preferences.
The daily fee amount for 2021 is yet to be advised but will be based on the current costing of $78 per day, with the usual annual indexing increase (approx. 2.5% per year).
Option 2 (extended)
As the Kindy survey results showed, there were still an overwhelming number of families who required either longer hours, school holiday care, or a combination of both.
Because of this, Kindy Gold will also be able to offer an extended hours model for those families who are requiring this for the duration of the year. For these families, their regular booking will continue for 50 weeks of the year, including school holidays.
The daily fee amount for 2021 is yet to be advised but will be based on the current costing of $94 per day, with the usual annual indexing increase (approx. 2.5% per year).
We hope that this decision has been able to alleviate some of the concern and provide families with some satisfactory options going forward. Please rest assured that we will be doing everything we can to facilitate a smooth transition to these new models, with management committed to providing the best care possible to our Little Genesis families.
