At Little Genesis, we create a strong foundation to prepare children for school and the years beyond.

Our Kindergarten program operates 50 weeks per year.

At Little Genesis, we have two kindergarten classrooms that run the Government-funded Queensland Kindergarten Program. Our Kindy classrooms are led by Bachelor qualified Early Childhood Teachers.

Families have the option of selecting one of two program options for their child:

  1. Either attending just the Kindergarten hours 8:15am – 2:45pm
  2. Or, the option of attending a full day session which allows drop off and pick up between 6:30am – 6:00pm.

It’s important to note both options allow for children to participate in the Kindergarten program, however our extended program provides children with a “before and after” care option as well, which is facilitated by our Outdoor Educator.

About our Program

Our Kindergarten teachers are Bachelor-qualified, experienced and have a passion for teaching our Kindergarten children. Our teachers work in collaboration to support each other, while igniting a love of learning in children.

We believe that children at this age are all competent individuals and we celebrate their achievements in many ways.

In keeping with our philosophy, we encourage learning partnerships and positive relationships. Our educators and children  share ideas to formulate a program that is unique and designed to focus on their specific interests.

Our close association with Genesis Christian College allows our Government-approved Kindergarten program to provide more than the standard curriculum:

  • Gross Motor Skill Development – this program utilises the first class facilities of Genesis Christian College including the Genesis Sport & Aquatics Fitness Centre and lush ovals to encourage children to develop coordination through activities including (but not limited to) gym exercise, movement classes, tennis or ball games.

  • Library Excursions to the Robert Schoenmaker Library

  • Reading Eggs Program

  • Swimming Program

  • Prep Readiness program that runs in Term 4, where our students visit the College Prep Centre to become familiar with a Prep environment.

  • Music Program – Music ignites all areas of a child’s skill development and we foster this with twice weekly music classes, run by the Genesis Christian College music teacher.

  • Pastoral Care Program – our Christian faith framework is supported by weekly visits from the College chaplain.
